Day 10 Utah

Rutabaga Route

While driving through the last of Idaho, we missed our turn to get back on highway… But had a great view over the snake river…. Then drove right next to fields… We head only seen these from afar and did not know what they were.We believe they are rutabagas. (Oct. 3, nope, they are sugar beets).

Next after a while of driving we went into a town that had a restaurant Ranch House Restaurant local place we had a great breakfast there.
We bought two large slices of three berry pie and a Idaho Spud chocolate/coconut bar for later.
Along the road we noticed a sign for the Golden Spike National Historic Park. We detoured to go there and arrived just in time for the one a day double train. demonstration of the steam engine trains. The man giving the talk did a wonderful knowledgeable job. Well worth the detail.

Moving on we decided it was pie time. Delicious.

Back on I 15; it was three hours of traffic jam. We hope these people were headed to Las Vegas and not Utah’s National parks.
We stopped for tenting in Fillmore, best camping weather of the trip.

Total miles so far 4,361.
