Thoughts on Utah

The area is fantastic if you are interested in science, geology, earth’s formation. I like the long vistas. Sorry photos make them look flat-got to see them in person.

The National parks are overcrowded. Hard to find parking space at look outs , especially at trail heads where people park for the day to go hiking. Entering is monitored, one car out, one car in. There are a lot of good views and formations outside the parks.

Waiting for entry at Arches

Moab has many restaurants and motels-all full. Campgrounds are full too. But there are only two gas stations and one was out of gas. There are no grocery stores. The motel front desk lady says she drives 120 miles round trip for groceries.

The bottom line for me is it’s a good place to visit but I wouldn’t want to live here.

Poor Billy got left out of my post so here he is.
